WELCOME TO ANOTHER INSTALLMENT OF #BOTB!
It's October!
Time for Mother Nature to put on a show.
This battle features unknown instrumental versions of a beautiful ballad.
HISTORY
"October Skies" is a heartfelt ballad by the renowned British folk rock band Mumford & Sons. Released on their critically acclaimed album “Delta” in 2018, this song stands out for its poetic lyrics and captivating melodies. Each verse tells a story of longing and reflection, painting vivid imagery of autumnal landscapes and bittersweet emotions. As with many of Mumford & Sons’ songs, “October Skies” delves into themes of love, loss, and the ephemeral nature of time.[Reference only. NOT eligible for voting!]

I don't recall having heard this song before. Nice tune.
ReplyDeleteEach artist had some good quality to their performance, but in the end the guitarist won me over. Now I think I'll go to bed I feel so relaxed.

First vote goes to the guitar cover. Thanks, Lee! ☺
DeleteA second vote for the guitar cover! The soothing tempo is surely what falling leaves must dance to.
ReplyDeleteStunning colors in the picture! Happy October, Debbie ;-)
Another vote for the guitar. ☺ Thanks, diedre and Happy October to you as well!
DeleteThis is a beautiful song that I never heard before. This is tough because both are great but it might come to what a person prefers to hear...piano or guitar and even though I took piano for 6 years, I'm going with the guitar. It feels more soulful.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like the song Birgit! ☺ That's three for the guitar, so far. Thanks for voting.
DeleteBoth are enjoyable, but I am going with the piano version.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary! I'm glad to see a vote for the piano. ☺
DeleteDebbie,
ReplyDeleteThe guitar rendition won me over instantly. The soft warm strumming felt like a lullaby. I could listen to this arrangement and fall asleep. Just beautiful! Give my vote contender #2, please. Have a bandtastic day!
Another vote for the soothing guitar! This is starting to look like another blowout, but it's still early. Thanks, Cathy! ☺
DeleteGoing with the guitar cover.
ReplyDeleteThank you for voting. Guitar gets another one!

ReplyDeleteThe only music I was familiar with by this group was their theme song, which is so dang funky that I have always dug it:

So, I was listening to these instrumental cover versions when my brother, Judge Meatball, asked me, "If you could play either instrument extremely well, which would you choose, the piano or the guitar?" I answered, "The piano". And then I asked him the same question and he replied, "The piano."
And then we *BOTH* promptly voted for the GUITAR cover. (Ain't life wickedly funny and strange and unpredictable?)
Chalk up two more "botes", please, for Guitar Boy.

[Addendum: If the piano version had actually been an electric organ or saxophone version instead, I would have been able to help balance out this blowout a wee bit.]
Oh darn! Here I thought the piano was going to get two more votes. Oh well, with your guitar choices, it's definitely a blowout. That's okay - at least it won't be a shutout, thanks to MMQE. ☺ Haha! Sanford ain't Mumford, but I liked the show.

Guitar. More warmth to it.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a blowout! Thanks for voting. The guitar must be gloating. ๐
DeleteBoth are magnificent, but I choose piano today... This is a great pairing, Debbie.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michael! It's good to see the piano get another vote. ☺
DeleteI'm generally led to like the guitar cover, anyway, and I thought the piano/keyboard cover was harsh, so I'll go with the guitar cover.
ReplyDeleteMost people agree with you. ☺ Guitar is leading by a mile. Thanks, John!
DeleteI always have to be different in some way. I vote for piano. Because. Because I just liked it better, not that the guitar cover was bad.Alana ramblinwitham.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteOh yay! I'm happy the piano is getting a few more votes. Thank you, Alana! ☺
