Apologies for any confusion! I had to delete the previously published post as it created some major technical glitches on the blog site, due to incorrect formatting.
This battle featured two different flamenco instrumentals by accomplished guitarists Ottmar Liebert and Armik Dashchi
At first, it looked like a shutout in the making, with Ottmar getting all the votes. Then, a few for Armik trickled in.
I thought both versions were excellent and had to listen a couple of times. In the end, Armik's dramatic flair resonated more.

ReplyDeleteThat was actually a pretty good outcome. I mean, it's not really a blowout until there's a 5 vote differential. So this was close enough. Plus, this was a really, REALLY enjoyable Battle Of The Bands installment, because I dug both recordings a great deal and needed to listen twice to be sure how I wanted to vote.
Terrific music, terrific BOTB match-up!! Good job, Debbie!
And now you've really got me seriously considering using my Flamenco Man, Vadim, in a BOTB installment in September or October.

ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure who would come out on top but guitarists are excellent. "Santa Fe" is a track on the album I have. :) Nice battle! Thanks for sharing the outcome. I'll see you for sure when the calendar flips over, maybe sooner. Have bandtastic day, Debbie!
