WELCOME BACK TO BOTB!
It’s time to announce the results of the Jan. 15 showdown.
This Rockchick showdown was a battle of epic proportions! Suzi and Joan fought neck and neck the whole way. Before adding my own two cents, Suzi was ahead by one. What to do, what to do? If I go with Joan, then we have a dreaded tie. If Suzi gets the vote, then she’s the clear winner. As always, I have to give my honest opinion, regardless. Joan Jett has been one of my favourite rockers since she first came on the music scene. Her raunchy, gritty vocals are more pleasing to my ears than Suzi’s, although she was holding her own in the raunch department. What made the biggest difference was the more driving beat of Joan’s band. John mentioned that Suzi’s track needed more bass and it seemed a little thin to me, as well. Therefore, I’m choosing Joan for the ever-unpopular tie. Oh well!BATTLE OF THE BANDS (BOTB), hosted by StMcC Presents Battle of the Bands is where you listen to different recordings of the same song and vote for the one you like best. Two “Battles” per month, on the 1st and 15th. (Please note: Effective July 2017, some of us switched to once a month on the 15th. Others may opt to continue with twice a month.) Votes will be tallied and posted the following week.

I nearly had a tie, too. Michele pushed it over the edge for me on Friday, though. I was really relieved. Excellent battle!
I normally don’t say this, but I’m really glad to see it was a tie. I had a hard time choosing which one to vote for because they both seem to be equals in my book. Looking forward to your next battle!

A tie seems kind of logical for this Battle as both versions were in the same vein. I don’t see any problem with this tie and it’s cool that your vote decided that both artists would “win” in a manner of speaking.
