Welcome back to #BOTB!
Time to announce the results of the August 15th showdown.
BATTLE OF THE BANDS (BOTB), hosted by StMcC Presents Battle of the Bands is where you listen to different recordings of the same song and vote for the one you like best. Two “Battles” per month, on the 1st and 15th. Votes will be tallied and posted the following week.

With two strong contenders, I was expecting another close battle, but this time, there’s a clear winner. It was going back and forth for the first few days, then Laith started picking up steam. Despite one late vote for Slow Feet, they couldn’t quite catch up. Here’s how it turned out:

LAITH AL-SAADI:

Either way, my vote won’t make a difference. Several people mentioned it was tough to choose and it was for me as well. Laith’s power vocals and guitar prowess blew me away. Slow Feet’s bluesy arrangement, vocals and musicianship were equally riveting. After listening to each several times, it finally came down to which one triggered the more intense emotional response. Without a doubt, that would be Slow Feet. Their version gave me chills and I’m completely besotted!

I was secretly hoping for another tie because both artists were great.
Sometimes it’s just not possible for me to choose. I like both for different reasons.

I would definitely go to a Laith Al-Saadi concert.
Debbie, Laith Al-Saadi is definitely a good rocker pick for this song, but I still like Slowfeet’s version. They made the song more their own and I liked the slower, metal sound and almost tender vocals. Cool battle!
Slow Feet was my choice as well, Cathy, although Laith was great, too. I’m glad you enjoyed the battle. Have a good weekend.
That was a close one! I’m sticking with Slow Feet the group and as for my own feet they’re just slower these days, but faster than my wife’s.

The close result is fitting, I think since both versions were excellent. Slow Feet was my choice as well.
As for literal slow feet, I can relate.
I’m really happy with the outcome. This is a great song, and Laith just blew me away. Excellent battle!

You said 2 votes. Am I wrong to say it’s supposed to be 3? Or you didn’t count your own vote in the post, but just mentally did the math, that’s why it’s 2?
I always show how everyone else voted before adding mine. Because I chose Slow Feet, the final differential was two votes. IMO, it should have been a tie.
Wow, Laith is amazing! His guitar work is fabulous! Thanks for turning me on to him. He definitely has a good career ahead of him. Glad he won. excellent battle!
