PAINT IT BLACK - BOTB RESULTS (DOGLADY'S DEN WORDPRESS POST)
BATTLE OF THE BANDS (BOTB), hosted by Far Away Seriesand StMcC Presents Battle of the Bands. is where you listen to different recordings of the same song and vote for the one you like best. Two “Battles” per month, on the 1st and 15th. Votes will be tallied and posted the following week.
This one wasn’t even close! Although I chose Eric Burdon (the intro gives me shivers and I love the whole psychedelic groove of the piece, not to mention Eric’s plaintive tone), it was the Goth version by Inkubus Sukkubus that resonated with most of you. A couple of you didn’t like either one and chose it by default, which is still a legitimate vote.
AND THE WINNER IS:
INKUBUS SUKKUBUS
By a ~70/30 split:
Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote and comment.
Here’s the winner once again, in a live performance video:
Don’t forget to check back with the others, for their BTOB results:
Mine does too, Angelika. 🙂 Even if you had voted, he still wouldn’t have won. His version of the song was a bit unusual; not exactly mainstream. Thanks for dropping in.
Well, I guess this just wasn’t your taste, Stephen. Not everyone is into psychedelic music. Personally, I love it, but, the majority preferred the Goth vibe. All good! 🙂 Getting away from rock altogether for the next one. Cheers!
I liked both versions, but I resonated better with IS’ version because of the Goth in me 😀
You’re in agreement with the majority then, Lori. 🙂 Thanks for dropping by!
Good News! Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner!
Right now, I am listening to multiple versions of “Feels Like Home.” It is Chantal Kreviazuk (famous Canadian) against the world… 🙂
Hi Myke; I’ll have to check that out. 🙂 Yes, Chantal is a famous Canadian and so is her husband, Raine Maida (Our Lady Peace).
I’m glad Inkubus Sukkubus won just so I could say that name again! 🙂 Love your pie charts!!!
LOL That is a fun name, for sure! 😀 Those pie charts are part of this cool opinion poll app: http://www.opinionstage.com/
I wasn’t able to vote… but my heart belongs to the Animals and Eric Baby. 🙂

I’m still surprised that I voted AGAINST Eric Burdon & The Animals but… I did.
See ya next time, DEBBIE.

I’m surprised that the difference would be so extreme, but the IS band was decent. I still prefer the classic psychedelic sound of Eric Burden.

We share the same opinion here, Lee. 🙂 I too was surprised that Eric didn’t fare better, but as you say. the other version was good too.
